Master Instructor Jerry Williams

Master Jerry Williams

Being great is not about the things that others have seen one do, the awards one has won, or the physical materials one has gained. Being great starts within ones self through the knowledge one has gained and the accomplishments one has achieved, and that greatness ends when the knowledge one gains is shared with others. Master Jerry Williams is a man of greatness. Master Williams has studied various martial arts for forty five years. Master Williams began training in boxing and wrestling while in high school and then began his formal martial arts training in Judo during 1963 WHILE STATIONED AT FORT LENARDWOOD, MO. Master Williams began his training in Tang Soo Do while stationed in Soul, Korea in 1964 and he then received his 1st Dan while stationed there. He went on to study Tae kwon do with the International Arts Association and received his 3rd Dan ranking. After accomplishing all that, Master Williams still continued to train and learn martial arts and trained formally in Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, and studied Uechi Ryu Karate for over forty years. Master Williams began his own mixed martial art system in 1979 which is known as Tae Ryu Jitsu. When Master Williams was creating Tae Ryu Jitsu he was looking for a more realistic way of defending one self. Along with all of the training that Master Williams has accomplished he has also fought in tournaments for over twenty years, and was the 1st American to fight in an all National Korean Tournament in 1964. Because of all of the training, hard work, and dedication Master Williams has completed over the years he was inducted into the Galaxy Black Belt Hall of Fame in 2000 and was awarded the rank of 7th Dan black belt. Master Jerry Williams is not seen as a man of greatness because of what others have seen him do, the awards he has won, or the physical materials he has gained, but he is a man of greatness because after all of the years of training, hard work, and dedication he has completed he is sharing his knowledge with others.
